53.5% ABV. This rare and superlative single barrel Whiskey may be the oldest age-statement Bourbon distilled outside of traditional Bourbon country, and is certainly the oldest age-stated, pot-distilled Bourbon. Distilled in July 2013 and bottled at 107 proof, this particular barrel saw a loss of 34% to the angel’s share and spent its career in the greenhouse-like upstairs aging room in the Navy Yard distillery.
Barrel-forward and full of dry spice and notes of powdered cinnamon, clove, toffee and peanut brittle, this is the most traditionally flavoured Bourbon from Kings County yet. With silver foil on the label and a handsome wooden shipping box, this definitely a giftable Whiskey (but is worth gifting to oneself at a time when the going is tough!)
